Day 1 - Monday
Arrival at 12 noon at the accommodation in Simiane-la-Rotonde. Meet your guide, receive an introduction to your riding holiday and settle into the guesthouse, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy your first ride: an approximately 12 km trail around Simiane-la-Rotonde (about 3 hours on horseback). Return to the guesthouse, then enjoy some free time to explore the village and its surroundings, with a guided tour available at an additional cost. Dinner will be a picnic packed in the saddlebags.

Day 2 - Tuesday
Ride towards Lagarde-d’Apt, passing through the village of Simiane-la-Rotonde and across the vast landscapes of the Albion Plateau. Continue to Notre-Dame-de-Lamaron Chapel, where a full lunch awaits you, served at tables with chairs and overlooking the majestic Mont Ventoux.Return to the guesthouse for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 3 - Wednesday
Head towards the remarkable landscapes of the Colorado Provençal! Although the site itself is no longer accessible on horseback, the surrounding trails offer beautiful elevated viewpoints over its spectacular ochre formations. Enjoy a full day of riding covering approximately 25 km, with around 6 hours in the saddle, through the colourful landscapes of the Luberon. A picnic packed in the saddlebags will be enjoyed along the way. Return to the guesthouse at the end of the day.

Day 4 - Thursday
Set off on another wonderful ride through the Provençal countryside, following natural trails and enjoying the region’s characteristic scenery towards the place known as Le Saut du Moine. A stop beside a stream will offer you the chance to cool off and enjoy a refreshing swim, weather and conditions permitting. After approximately 4 hours on horseback, return to La Fontaine for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your guesthouse before enjoying a convivial evening over a delicious dinner.

Day 5 - Friday
For your final day on horseback, explore the surroundings of Simiane-la-Rotonde and its famous lavender fields. Enjoy an approximately 3-hour ride through the heart of the Provençal countryside, surrounded by the fragrant scents of southern France and authentic rural landscapes. At lunchtime, savour a picnic packed in the saddlebags before returning to your guesthouse to enjoy one last taste of warm hospitality and the gentle Provençal way of life.

Day 6 - Saturday
After breakfast, depart at your convenience or take an optional transfer, available at an additional cost, at 9 am to Marseille Airport or Aix-en-Provence TGV railway station.

This itinerary is given on an indicative basis. Depending on the seasons and the meteorological conditions during the tour, the guide may modify the tour.

Our horses and required riding ability

Horses
Spanish or barb crossbreds, adapted to trail riding. Well balanced and willing, they live in a herd, outdoors, and are only used for trail riding. They are our guarantee for a relaxing and safe ride.

Tack
Our saddles are designed for trail riding and allow a laid back style of riding.

You must be comfortable with all three gaits outdoors and already have some riding experience. You will also be expected to look after your horse, including grooming, saddling and unsaddling.

Riders must not weigh more than 90kg.
Children accompanied by a responsible adult are accepted from the age of 12 if they have the required level of riding experience.

Guides are certified, and are friends who made a job of their passion. They will share with you this passion and the pleasure of trail riding. They speak French and English and try not to be the leader in the riding tour.
A logistics vehicle carries the luggage from one accomodation to another.

Accommodation
Enjoy comfortable accommodation in a guesthouse nestled among the lavender fields of Haute-Provence. Rooms accommodate 2 to 3 people. Single rooms are available at an additional cost. Solo travellers must pay a single-room supplement on site. However, if you are willing to share a room and we find another guest to share with you, no supplement will be charged.

Meals
In the evening, enjoy delicious, refined Provençal cuisine prepared by your host, featuring local flavours. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated upon request, and wine is included with meals. At lunchtime, savour generous picnics featuring regional specialities, including salads, local cured meats, cheeses and fresh fruit, carried in the saddlebags or delivered by your host.
