If you want to discover a special kind of protected nature, this is the destination for you! You're off to the tip of Brittany, in Finistère. Our guide will be delighted to take you on a 2-5 days tour of the varied and extraordinary landscapes of the Armorican country and the "Black Mountains", a chain of small mountains in Brittany. Between rivers and ridges, at the rhythm of long gallops, you'll pass from the plains to the peat bogs, skirting the ocean! On these paths framed by greenery or white sand, you'll also be able to admire the traces of human adaptation and the legends that surround them! |
Riders meet at the riding centre at 8.30am on the first day and set off on horseback an hour later. On the last day, after the ride, riders depart individually after 6.30pm.
Each day's ride is devoted to a long loop, to discover the Black Mountains, with a picnic lunch.
Our different examples of horse riding days
Tour 1: Spezet circuit
After a few good paces and a ford crossing, we'll stop at the Notre Dame du Crann chapel. One of the windows is dedicated to Saint Eloi, patron saint of blacksmiths. Return to the farm in the evening through the Spezet bocage.
Approximately 5 hours on horseback
Tour 2: The Black Mountains
This morning we head for the Black Mountains. A day in the heart of nature, between sunken paths and ridges. After crossing the Cudel peat bogs, we have a picnic in the heart of the forest. The return journey is via Menez Kamm. Dinner and overnight at the farm.
Approximately 5 hours on horseback
Tour 3: The Aulne loop
After a first stage combining forest and traces of rural heritage, we follow the course of the Aulne on its landward side. Return to the horse farm, following the canal on a rolling route. Dinner and overnight stay.
Approximately 7 hours on horseback
Tour 4: Saint Sauveur loop
Heading due south, we take on the Black Mountains along new paths, winding our way upstream. We continue our journey along the ridge line. After lunch, we set off on a gallop that will take us as far as the former Carmelite convent at Saint Sauveur. We take the Canal route back to the farm. Dinner and overnight stay.
Approximately 5 hours on horseback
Tour 5: Nantes to Brest Canal loop
We ride along the canal which offers us a spectacle with its bubbling locks. We can admire the beautiful lock houses and the slow rise of the barges. The towpath gives us a chance to pace ourselves before a final gallop to the horse farm.
Approximately 5 hours on horseback

"‘The guide took great care of his horses and riders. The wife of Géry, the guide, is an excellent cook and baker. We were very spoilt. We have nothing to say about our hosts. The welcome and the ride were TOP." - Valérie L. (2021)
"A great weekend of riding with real horse enthusiasts. A great way to discover this magnificent region and horse riding with a very dedicated guide. A very welcoming and personable couple and super horses that were free and happy ;) Thanks for everything, we'll be back soon !" - Olivier B. (2019)
"Nature lovers, a real pleasure to be with and their horse rides are fun, enjoyable and very well organised." - Cynthia G. (2019)
"Back to everyday life. A very big thank you to Gery and Isabelle and the girls for their welcome, their professionalism and their thoughtfulness at all times. A ride with magnificent scenery and perfect horses !" - Lucile (2017)
"A very big thank you to Isabelle and Géry for this magnificent and very sporty ride. A very warm family welcome. Isabelle takes good care of us and prepares very good, healthy and balanced meals. Géry is very professional, in love with his horses and passionate about riding. He listens to us and is always happy to answer our questions. Juliette, a little appaloosa mare, is a real delight, generous, energetic, very good mentally, calm, very sure-footed, respectful of her rider and who knows her job very well. The itinerary is splendid, the scenery breathtaking, the terrain varied between forests, climbs and descents in spades, small, sometimes very rocky paths where the horses pass with ease and large tracks for beautiful, long trots and gallops over several kilometres. In short, it was a very sporting, high-quality ride that I can highly recommend and would do again ! Just great fun !" - Déborah H. (2016)
"This 2-day ride in the Armorican countryside went by at breakneck speed. I spent 2 marvellous days there and I'm ready to repeat the adventure as soon as possible. Our guide and his family gave us a very warm welcome. The horses are endearing, in their right minds and happy to go for a ride. The scenery was sumptuous despite the little bit of rain we had. Nothing to change about this superb ride." - Gaïdic I. (2016)
