If you want to escape between the Vienne and the Gartempe valleys, in the heart of the Poitou region we suggest you 2 itineraries: 3 days / 2 nights / 3 days riding
These two itineraries can also be combined with the "the Poitou riding tour" itinerant riding tour in 6 days / 5 nights / 6 days riding.
Day 1
Meeting point at the riding centre before 9am. We have a first contact with our guide and horses. We ride through very undulating landscapes, a region where limousines cows and sheep are breed. The paths are bordered with secular oak trees. We have a picnic lunch alongside a lake with a water spring where horses can drink. We also enjoy a wonderful view on the village of Trimouille. We spend the night in a former farm with a view on the Serre Castle.
Day 2
Today, we ride through the Vienne valley surrounded by castles from different periods of time. We have a picnic lunch at the Saint Germain Castle (a medieval castle). We visit one of these castles. Then, we ride through the Issoire affluent, and farms made of granite and secular oak wood we see alongside our riding paths.
Day 3
Today, we spend our last day riding in the Vienne Valley. We have a picnic in the village of Brégoux. We ride through fords and end our riding tour by having long gallops. We are back in the equestrian centre in late afternoon.
Day 1

This is a region where limousines cows and sheep are breed. The paths are bordered with secular oak trees. We have a picnic lunch alongside a lake and can take a bath with our horses if we want. In the afternoon, we ride through the village of Nérignac.
Day 2
Today, we ride to the village of Moussac with its Merovingian sarcophagi. We enjoy a nice view on the Messelière Castle. Then, we ride alongside the Vienne River and enjoy a nice view. We have a picnic lunch in the Fougeret Castle which is supposedly haunted. After lunch, we visit this castle (if it is open). In the afternoon, we ride through nice paths in the Vienne valley. We ride on bridges and through paths to have long gallops.
Day 3
Today, we finish riding in the Vienne valley. We have a picnic lunch alongside the Vienne River in the Isle Jourdain. In the afternoon, we ride on the viaduct (40m) and enjoy being in a former railway to have a good gallop. We are back at the equestrian centre in late afternoon and riders leave on their own.

Horses
The equestrian farm has more than 40 horses and ponies, from different breeds (pur Arabian cross-breed, French saddle, barbs, quarter horses...). Most of them were born in the farm. Suitable riding ability
Our itinerant riding tours are for experienced riders feeling comfortable at the three gaits, and with a regular horseback practice. It is recommended to have a good physical condition for this horse riding (5 to 6 hours riding per day).

Your saddle is equipped with a saddle pad with pockets and a pair of saddlebags to carry your personnal effects riding. A logistic vehicle carries your luggage and lunch in order to limit the weight on horseback.

Your accommodation will be rural inns or guesthouses, in double or single bedroom (depending on availability).
Meals
A minibus brings us our picnic for lunch. Dinners are in restaurants or in guest tables. They are traditional and local gastronomy (wine and aperitif included).
