TOURAINE - Comfort stay from Chenonceau to Amboise

If you want to discover the major castle of the Loire valley like Amboise or Chenonceau, this star trail with a very comfortable 3 stars hotel is for you !

Day 1 : The Loire valley - Chaumont Castle
Meeting at the riding center at 08:30 am. You will then saddle up for your first day in direction of the castle of Chaumont sur Loire. You will admire the shores of the Loire, a world heritage site by UNESCO, before reaching the castle for lunch. A former medieval fortress, Chaumont is now a magnificent Renaissance castle overlooking the Loire. Free visit (about 1h30) followed by your afternoon ride back via the Ile de la Folie and its beautiful grassy paths. Night and dinner at the Domaine des Thomeaux.

Day 2 : Montrichard forest - Troglodytic cellar and wine degustation
For your second day, you will leave towards the south-eastern through the Montrichard forest. You will appreciate its large shaded sandy paths for beautiful paces. You will leave the banks of the Loire to join those of the Cher. You will have lunch in the heart of the Montrichard forest. Between typical stone villages of Tuffaut and light difference in altitude, you will reach Bourré in the middle of the afternoon, where your horses will sleep. You will continue your day with the guided visit of Troglodégusto, which will take you to the discovery of its human works having been used in turn, of extraction of stones of the Loire, of mushroom cellars, or of tunnels during the resistance. You will close this unusual visit with a troglodytic wine tasting accompanied by local products. Night and dinner in transfer at the Domaine des Thomeaux.

Day 3 : Aiguevive Abbey - Montpoupon Castle
Your third day will take you this time on the South bank of the Cher to reach the Touraine/Indre threshold and the Lochois country. You will have lunch at the foot of the Aiguevive Abbey, a 11th century vestige, and then reach the very elegant Montpoupon Castle in the middle of the afternoon, where your hoses will sleep. You will discover this small Renaissance castle and in particular its rich collection aroudn the venery and the amazon (visit about 1h). Night and dinner in transfer at the Domaine des Thomeaux.

Day 4 : Cher Valley - Chenonceau Castle
Another day fully dedicated to the Cher Valley. You will meet the horses in Montpoupon to leave towards the West and the famous Chenonceau Castle. Lunch at the castle followed by a visit (about 1h30). This "rock-star" of Touraine will delight you with its richly furnished and perfectly maintained interiors, its French gardens and its famous gallery spanning the Cher. You will then get back in the saddle to enjoy one last time the view of the castle from the South bank, before following the Touraine/Indre threshold to reach Dierre at the end of the day. Night and diner in transfer at the Domaine des Thomeaux.

Day 5 : Amboise forest - Amboise Castle

You are already at the start of your last day in the Loire Valley. You will leave Dierre at the beginning of the morning to reach the city of Amboise. This old royal city, overhung by its castle of medieval and Renaissance inspiration, will seduce you by its authentic character and its animation. Lunch at the foot of the castle followed by a free visit (about 1 hour), where you will admire its breathtaking view of the Loire. You will then meet the horses one last time for a natural and relaxing afternoon before returning to Rilly at the end of the day. Free departure after the traditional "friendship drink".
