An exceptional gateway through woods and forests in the south of Gironde, 1 hour driving from Bordeaux! During this ride, a night is planned in a tree house, an unusual accommodation to live a moment as close as possible to nature. |
Welcome of the riders around 8.30am directly at the equestrian farm. Then, the presentation and the giving out of the horses, and departure around 10am. We leave the last hills of Gironde in the direction of Bazas, the gateway to the Gironde moors. After a picnic break below the ramparts, we take the time to visit this Gascon city and its Gothic cathedral built in the XIIIth century, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, a good meal at the foot of the ramparts of Bazas and a possible visit to its famous cathedral and its large square. Bazas, this Gascon city, thrives south of the Bordeaux and Sauternes vineyards. We take back our mounts in the footsteps of Santiago de Compostela and gradually enter the heart of the forests of Gascony to reach our comfortable guest room.
Day 2
This second day on horseback offers beautiful galloping grounds, on large forest paths. We go to the restaurant in Escaudes to discover the local gastronomy and local products. The large forest paths offer us nice canters and lead us to Captieux, an historical village. We then go to our evening stopover: the small village of huts. Through this soothing atmosphere, from the top of our tree house, we experience an unusual night, in symbiosis with nature and the forest.
Day 3
After a good breakfast we head towards the castle of Cazeneuve, jewel of the Dukes of Albret where Queen Margot stayed. This enchanting castle stands in the middle of a park classified as a Historical Monument, where we have our picnic break.The large forest paths offer us nice canters and lead us to Captieux, an historical village.After lunch, we visit the monument, before continuing our ride through the hills and through beautiful villages typical of the southern Gironde. We get to Gajac and the equestrian farm. Departure of the riders is possible from 5.30pm.
Important: The above itinerary is provided on an indicative basis and our guide reserves the right to modify the itinerary according to the condition of paths and the seasons.

Your guide is a professional, she has ATE and BPJEPS equestrian tourism degrees, she use to guide treks in this region. A true passionate person, she will make you discover these superb landscapes in a good mood!
We have a logistical vehicle to bring us picnics for lunch. Dinners are taken at the guest house (aperitif included)

Accommodation The second night you will be accommodated
in a tree house. The accommodation offers a swimming pool and private terraces. The toilets are composting toilets that can be accessed directly in the cabin. Showers are in the sanitary block. |
A logistics vehicle bring you your lunch. Everything is prepared homemade. Organic and/or local products are preferred. Your breakfast and dinner are served in the guest room.
Languages spoken by the guide: English / French / German speaking guide.
Group size: from 2 to 8 riders.
Arrival airport / train station: Possibility to arrive the day before (night from 49€). In this case only, our guide will be able to set up transfers from/to Langon station.
